Customer portal: reinstall, reboot and rescue, all self-service.
Once a server is assigned to a customer, they can manage it from the self-service portal. Routine after-sales requests no longer need a ticket and an engineer, and your team can focus on work that matters more.
Illustrative interface
Key capabilities
- 01
Power and reinstall
Power on, shut down, reboot, reinstall from an image and reset the OS password.
- 02
Rescue mode
Boot a Linux rescue system or Windows PE when the OS will not start, without touching disk data.
- 03
Console and network
Open VNC, SSH or RDP consoles and see IPs, traffic and attack events.
- 04
Account security
SSH keys, API keys and OTP two-factor authentication, with a second check for risky actions.
One system, three kinds of user
Toplink DCIM is a multi-role system. The same installation offers different entry points:
| Role | Who uses it | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Operator admin | The provider’s engineers, support and sales | All menus, with permissions by admin group |
| Customer | End customers renting servers | Only their own servers, tickets and tasks |
| Single server | Bound to one device | Goes straight to that server’s detail page |
After a provider assigns a server to a user in the admin panel, the customer can log in to the portal and manage it.
What customers can do themselves
- View server configuration, status, IP addresses and network details;
- Power on, shut down and reboot, and reset the BMC when needed;
- Reinstall the operating system from an image and reset the OS password;
- Enter rescue mode: when the OS fails to boot, the password is lost or the file system is damaged, boot a temporary Linux rescue system or Windows PE to recover data;
- Open a VNC console, or log in over SSH or RDP;
- See traffic usage and attack events, change the hostname and add notes;
- Manage SSH keys and API keys to control their servers programmatically;
- Open tickets, follow replies and rate resolved tickets;
- Follow the progress of long-running jobs such as reinstalls in the task queue, and cancel them.
Second-factor checks for risky actions
Reinstalling, resetting the BMC, rescue mode, resetting the OS password, changing the boot order and cancelling a server assignment all require a one-time password from the customer’s phone. That prevents mistakes and limits the damage if an account is compromised.
What it means for providers
Reinstalls, reboots and password resets are the most common after-sales tickets in hosting. Letting customers do them themselves turns “wait for an engineer” into “done now”, and frees support and operations for problems that really need a person.
If you sell servers through Mofang Finance, Mofang V10 or WHMCS, the integration plugins bring these self-service features straight into the billing system’s client area.
Customer portal
Can customers see other customers' servers?
No. Customers only see servers assigned to their own account, and operational menus such as racks, switches and IP pools are hidden.
Can I expose only some features to customers?
Yes. Providers control which features a customer account can use, and anything not enabled is hidden from the portal.
Can I give a single server its own login?
Yes. The single-server login goes straight to that server's detail page, ideal when someone only needs to manage one machine.
