Key capabilities
- 01
Supplier reselling
Upstream IDC and cloud providers join as suppliers and their products go on sale directly.
- 02
Price markup rules
Prices are calculated by rule on top of the supplier's cost.
- 03
Multi-level rebates
Rebates are calculated by agent tier, and every order can be traced.
- 04
Periodic reconciliation
Settle with suppliers and agents every cycle, with clear records.
Three parties in every order
In IDC reselling a single order usually involves three parties:
- Suppliers: upstream IDC providers offering servers, bandwidth, cloud instances and other resources;
- Your platform: packages upstream resources as products and sells them;
- Customers and agents: the customers who buy, and the multi-level agents who sell for you.
The more resources and the deeper the agent tiers, the easier it is to get spreadsheet accounting wrong. CloudFinance keeps all three parties’ accounts in one system.
How one order’s revenue is split
Take a ¥1,000 order as an example:
| Item | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Order total | ¥1,000 | Paid by the customer |
| Supplier settlement | ¥700 | Settled at the supplier’s cost price |
| Tier-1 agent rebate | ¥50 | 5% of the order |
| Tier-2 agent rebate | ¥30 | 3% of the order |
| Platform share | ¥220 | ¥300 markup minus ¥80 in rebates |
These percentages are only an example; actual amounts follow the markup and rebate rules you configure.
Supplier onboarding and reselling
Once a supplier is onboarded, their resources can be listed as products. Price markup rules calculate the selling price above cost automatically, so you never reprice products one by one. Provisioning with the upstream provider is handled through plugins and dedicated provisioning modules.
Reconciliation and settlement
Per-order revenue sharing is combined with periodic reconciliation: each order’s split is calculated in real time, and at the end of the cycle totals are settled with suppliers and agents. Every record can be traced, so disputes can be resolved from the data.
Everything else in the same system
Beyond reselling, CloudFinance also covers recurring billing, overdue suspension, tickets, reports, invoice management, multiple currencies and the customer portal, which suits providers that sell both their own and resold resources.
IDC reseller system
What kind of business is it for?
Providers that resell upstream IDC or cloud resources and work with multi-level agents: resources are sold at a markup and each order's revenue is split between supplier, agents and platform automatically.
How is it different from a regular IDC billing system?
A regular billing system only handles selling to customers. A reseller system also has to handle where resources come from, who earns a rebate and what the platform keeps, and reconcile all of it every cycle.
Can it work with DCIM?
Yes. Your own data center resources are delivered by DCIM, resold resources are delivered by suppliers, and both can be sold from the same CloudFinance.
